Technical Verification: Hydrajaws or Load Cell Testing

Our engineers utilise one of two primary verification methods:

• Hydrajaw Pull-Testing: We use a Hydrajaw tester to confirm the immediate integrity and “grip” of a fixing within the concrete. This is ideal for smaller spaces or lift shafts with scaffolding making it hard to reach the pit of shaft wall to attach the load cell and lever hoist but still ensuring the lifting eyes meet their required SWL.
• Load Cell Verification: For a data-driven proof test, we apply the required Safe Working Load (SWL) using a lever hoist and a digital load cell. This method provides a precise measurement of the eye’s performance under its rated capacity.

We use either the Hydrajaw or the Load Cell depending on the specific application. This strategic selection ensures we provide a definitive, professional test result for every anchor point.

Compliance: The Legal Safety File

Documentation is as critical as the installation itself. Every lift shaft lifting eye installation must be backed by a Report of Thorough Examination before it is put into service. This process ensures your equipment meets the rigorous standards set by LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998), providing legal proof that the gear is fit for purpose.
