Specialist Lifting Equipment: Free 2027 Product Guide

The guide is written for lift companies, construction and demolition contractors, and facilities teams who need the right kit on site and ready to work. Every item in our hire fleet goes out with a current LOLER certificate, and we deliver and collect across the UK.

Our new 2027 Product Guide puts the full range of specialist lifting equipment we hire, test and build into one 18-page PDF. It covers powered and manual hoists, beam clamps and trolleys, slings and shackles, scaffold towers for lift shafts and test weights. It also covers the testing and fabrication work we conduct on site and in our Stoke-on-Trent workshop.

What Specialist Lifting Equipment can you Hire?

Specialist-lifting-equipment - Tirak Hoist in Workshop

The largest part of the guide covers our lifting equipment hire fleet, from motorised hoists to the shackles that connect everything together.

Powered hoists. Tirak wire rope hoists range from 1,000kg to 3,000kg, with two-speed or pendant control. For lighter lifts, Minifor hoists handle 500kg in a compact unit, and Loadstar electric chain hoists are available at 1,000kg and 2,000kg. We can supply the wire rope, pendants and power leads to run them. Our Tirak hoist hire guide explains how to choose the right hoist for your project.

Manual hoists. When the job does not need a motor, chain block hire covers vertical lifts from 1 to 5 tonnes. Lever hoists range from 250kg to 6 tonnes and will lift, pull or tension at any angle.

Beam clamps and trolleys. Adjustable beam clamps provide a secure anchor point on structural steel, from 1 to 5 tonnes. Push-travel beam trolleys move the load along the beam, from 500kg to 5 tonnes.

Rigging hardware. The guide also covers snatch blocks, swivel hooks, block stops and rope clamps, which route and hold the wire rope. Our snatch blocks are man-riding rated.

Slings and shackles. We hire flat web and round slings from 1 to 5 tonnes, along with bow, D and piling shackles. Wire rope slings are a sale item only and are not available to hire. Like the rest of the kit, slings and shackles need regular LOLER inspection for lifting accessories.

The guide lists every capacity and size, so you can check what suits your job before you call.

What Equipment do you Need for Work Inside a Lift Shaft?

Much of the guide focuses on the lift industry, including equipment used in and around lift shafts.

Scaffold towers. Our ALTO access towers are built for lift shafts, machine rooms and plant rooms. Single-width towers go up to 10.2m and double-width towers to 12.2m, in 0.5m steps. A one-man tower at 4.2m suits smaller jobs. We supply and install towers up to 12.2m, and our aluminium scaffold tower hire page has more detail.

Mobile gantry beams. A REID Porta Gantry gives you a lifting point where there is no beam to rig from. It comes in 3m and 5m beam lengths and adjusts from 2.5m to 4.5m in height.

Props and supports. We hire acro props, super props for heavier loads, lifting bars and axle stands.

Site equipment. The range includes pallet trucks, bogie trolleys, dolly skates and transformers, along with tools such as mag drills, toe jacks and guide grabbers.

If you are planning lifting work inside a shaft, our lift shaft lifting compliance guide explains the rules that apply.

What Lifting Equipment Testing Does Industrial Lifting Ltd Carry Out?

Testing has its own section in the guide. Our team works on site and in our own workshop. Every test is carried out by competent persons, and certification is issued on completion.

LOLER inspection. We carry out thorough examinations of lifting equipment under LOLER 1998 as set out in the HSE guidance on LOLER. If you are not sure what that involves, our guide to what a LOLER inspection is explains it.

Lifting beam and lifting eye installs. We install and test runway beams and lifting eyes in lift shafts, and certificate them on completion.

Pull testing. We carry out anchor and structure pull tests, certificated on completion.

Proof load testing. We apply proof loads to stillages and structures. Our proof load testing page explains how it works.

Car and counterweight weighing. We offer a combined weigh service for the car and counterweight.

PAT testing. We provide portable appliance testing for site and workshop equipment.

Test weights. If you are running the tests yourself, you can hire test weights by the band: 0 to 999kg, then in 1,000kg bands up to 3,999kg. We deliver them to site and collect them when testing is complete. Larger loads and long-term hire are available on request.

Yes. When a job needs something that is not on our shelves, we build it. The Specialist Services section of the guide covers this, along with the support work around the lifting itself.

Storage. We offer secure, dry storage for lift equipment, components and materials at our Stoke-on-Trent site, short or long term. We deliver your kit back to site whenever you need it.

Lift packaging and waste removal. After a rip-out or modernisation, we package the old equipment, remove it and dispose of it responsibly, leaving the site clear for the next stage.
